The Pakistan Association of Urological Surgeons (PAUS) is the national professional body representing urologists in Pakistan. It was established in 1997 in Lahore to unify both emerging and senior urologists and elevate urological care nationally
PAUS has a dynamic membership base of over 300+ urologists, organized into 11 active regional chapters, plus an additional UK chapter .
PAUS aims to enhance urological care in Pakistan by:
Promoting research and education
Fostering clinical collaboration
Conducting workshops and events
Working alongside partners through MoUs to build professional capacity
Yes — PAUS publishes the peer-reviewed Pakistan Journal of Urology (PJU) in collaboration with the Institute of Kidney Diseases. It's an open-access platform covering urological oncology, endourology, pediatric urology, and more . Members can subscribe via the “Journal Subscription” section or directly access articles online.
Governance is carried out by the elected office bearers — president, secretary, treasurer, and others. Elections are held regularly, and details like candidates, timelines, and results are announced on the PAUS Elections page, promoting transparency and member involvement.
